The Corn Crib was a granary in which farmers stored Indian maize or corn during the winter, using it as required to feed livestock. The gaps between the logs allowed air to circulate freely through the grain. The 'legs' of the corn crib were lined with lead to prevent vermin and small farm animals from getting at the stored grain.
